If I know correctly, it seems you're connecting from Vietnam to Japan, right? Did you check the node status between Vietnam and Japan nodes of mudfish? It's available at http://en.loxch.com/meshrtt.php link. At mudfish, there are three vietnam nodes available but I'm not sure that which ISP you're using though you can check with that about peer status. With checking the packet loss rate or protocol types you can pick a proper mudfish node to play a game more stable.

I still lag when using Vietnam nodes. And when I do raid, I disconnect.

Is there a special reason to choose two nodes (N Asia (Vietnam - VietHosting) → KR Asia (S. Korea - Sejong Telecom 1)) for connecting the game?

South Korea isn't that far from Japan however please be aware that normallly at least it takes around 50 ~ 80 ms depending on the mudfish node.

Packet loss rate is important but to avoid ping lag and stuttering, RTT std is also important because it affects the response time of game. Please check Non-official FAQ - Mudfish Nodes though I'm not sure it'd be helpful to select a mudfish node.

I love the Mudfish interface, I would really like to get to know how to use this tool. It seems very powerful, but I feel like my technical knowledge isn't enough to maximize it.

1. *Is there a trick to knowing the right MTU value for me?* There are no interfaces built in mudfish internally. However you should know MTU is a value between your desktop and peer mudfish node. So depending on each mudfish nodes, its MTU values from you could be different. If you'd like to calculate MTU to a mudfish node, you can use http://www.iea-software.com/products/mtupath.cfm tool.

2. *How do I know if my game (FF14) is using UDP or some other protocol?* Normally you should do the packet dump on your desktop and analyze packets with tools such as Wireshark.
