Oh hey, me too, go equip the game on your dashboard, are you playing on the NA or EU server? And whats your geographical location that you're playing from? Go to http://127.0.0.1:8282/admin/status/nodes and click on RTT average to find a node that gives you best ping, or were you trying to figure out a better route?

Also get this www.pingplotter.com/standard.html (get the free trial) or free version. You can see the route change when you're pinging your game server (remember to restart mudfish for the changes to take effect).

Ok...i have equipped the game. I am playing in the NA server from Indonesia. So when I am playing the game and I want to check my ping, how do I do that?

You find out the IP of your game server, for example I'm playing on gilgamesh, so the server IP is: 199.91.189.150 . With mudfish running, start pingplotter and put your server IP in the target name field, set the trace interval to 1 second and press the play button. It'll show you your game connection route and the ping to the server, and the dropped packets along the route(if any). Sometimes you won't get the best connection if you use auto, so you need to figure out which node works best for you. (Also playing from malaysia, usually the best ping I can get is 245ms with vpn type services, for reference)

Thanks for the help. I think if I can get 250 ms, I'll be a happy player. Right now, I m not sure about the ip of my server (Ultros). I found mine in http://www.arrstatus.com/ but when I compared the Gilgamesh server IP to yours, they are different. So..yeah...really not sure if I got the right IP to measure.

If you're on windows 7, when the game is running(and you're on your character), start up task manager > performance tab > resource monitor button > network tab > check the ffxiv_dx11.exe(or dx9) box > TCP connections remote address. That's the IP of the game server.

I think @pooka already answered details how to check it without mudfish or with mudfish. But I'd like to add a little more description for your question at below:

You'd like to see these information while you're playing the game, right? If yes, it's not easy for mudfish to show you between your desktop, mudfish node and game server. It requires more enhancement of mudfish program. At this moment, mudfish shows RTT avg and std at 'Dashboard -> Status -> Nodes' between your desktop and mudfish nodes. And RTT through between your desktop to game server is only briefly available at game item setting menu. If your game client provides these information, that is best way to know.

If you're using Full VPN mode and it can see a proper message at http://myip.mudfish.net while using mudfish, I can guarantee your status that you're accessing through mudfish. However just using game item, I can't guarantee that because mudfish is working based on routing table's configuration of your operating system. You can check the realtime graph at Dashboard to represent current mudfish in/out packet's activity whether there are any packets on mudfish side but it doesn't show no. of connections because mudfish is working on OSI layer 2 (ethernet level). It's different operating mode comparing other booster tools.

Thanks for the reply. I think it 's clearer to me now. Didn't even realize I could do full VPN, but sadly for my game, the ping drops drastically if I just use one node. I also can't see the ping in game (like WoW), so I have to do it manually.

Okay I see. Please let me know again if you encounter any issues while using mudfish. :-)
